Career Launch 2014

Randolph Community College’s Workforce Development & Continuing Education Division is planning a Career Launch session from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, for graduating high school students who are unsure of their next step. The session will be held in the RCC Continuing Education and Industrial Center at 413 Industrial Park Avenue.

Students can explore opportunities in a number of areas, including Accelerated Machining, Career College, College & Career Readiness, EMS, English for Speakers of Other Languages, Fire Academy, HVAC/Maintenance Mechanic/Electrical, Manicurist, Masonry and Carpentry, and Welding. These numerous programs and training courses can help students prepare for a job without having to enroll in a degree program.

Interested students and parents will have the time to discuss class options, explore employment potential, register for fall 2014 classes, and apply for scholarships. “All of the Workforce Development and Continuing Education programs are fast-tracked to careers and jobs, so several local and regional employers recruit from our population of job-ready and well-trained students,” said Bryle Hatch, coordinator of workforce development for RCC. In addition, he noted, several of the classes provide CE-to-CU credit, meaning that after a student successfully completes the continuing education course, they already have curriculum credit toward a degree, if and when they choose to pursue one at RCC.
